UPDATE: Three dead in Breaux Bridge shooting

According to Maj. Ginny Higgins with the St. Martin Sheriff's Office3, one of the victims, Leola Blanchard, 62, made a 911 call at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday telling the operator a disturbance was in progress at her home on La Rue Angelle, just south of Breaux Bridge. While still on the phone with 911, she reported she had been shot by her husband, Clifford Blanchard, 59.
A second 911 call was made by Scott Blanchard, 32, son of Clifford and Leola, reporting he had also been shot by Clifford Blanchard. When Deputies arrived on scene they discovered that a third person, Ashlynn Blanchard, 3, daughter of Scott Blanchard, had suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
Following the initial shootings, a struggle ensued between Clifford and Scott Blanchard resulting in Clifford Blanchard receiving a fatal gunshot wound.
The investigation remains ongoing and no further information is available at this time.

Previously: Three members of the Blanchard family area dead and a fourth hospitalized after what law enforcement is calling a domestic disturbance on La Rue Angelle here shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The victims have been identified as Clifford Blanchard, 59, Leola Blanchard, 62, and Ashlynn Blanchard, 3, all dead from gunshot wounds, and 32-year-old Scott Blancard, hospitalized with critical injury from a gunshot wound.
KATC is reporting that Clifford Blanchard was a former St. Martin Parish corrections officer who last worked for the sheriff's office in 2004.
Investigators say they are not looking for a shooting suspect.
The St. Martin Sheriff's Office is investigating.
