SMP schools face foes in Kiwanis Jam Thurs. & Fri.
All three St. Martin Parish football teams will be featured in the annual Lafayette Kiwanis Jamboree set for UL’s Cajun Field this Thursday and Friday.
St. Martinville will get things rolling at 6 p.m. on Friday with the Tigers facing the Northside Vikings of District 4-4A.
Immediately following the jamboree opener Cecilia will take the field against another 4-4A team, the Carencro Bears.
The nightcap game pits Notre Dame of Crowley against Lafayette High’s Mighty Lions.
The Breaux Bridge Tigers learned Monday that they will face Baton Rouge powerhouse Parkview Baptist in the Friday night opener at 6 p.m.
Comeaux and St. Thomas More will play in the second game while the final contest of this year’s jamboree will pit Teurlings Catholic against the Acadiana Rams.
Fans are reminded that the proceeds from all advance tickets sold by the individual schools will remain at those schools.
Tickets sold at the gate on Thursday and Friday will go into a pot to be split among all 11 schools playing in the jamboree.
Cecilia fans can purchase advance tickets in the CHS office for $7.
Advance tickets are available from Breaux Bridge players and at the school office for $8 while St. Martinville Sr. High coach Vincent Derouen said the school is offering advance tickets at “a substantial discount.”
Tickets purchased at the gate will be priced at $10.
