Accident on I-10 East Has Traffic Backed Up For 3 Miles

An accident on I-10 eastbound has traffic backed up for at least three miles.  The crash which appears to have involved a passenger car and an 18 wheeler occurred near mile marker 125 just west of Whiskey Bay.  There are reported injuries however the extent of those are unknown at this time.

I-10 East is closed at the I-49 split and traffic is being detoured off I-10 East at Highway 328 near Breaux Bridge.  Traffic is backed up at least three miles from Highway 328.

State Police advises motorists to avoid this area and to use alternate routes, including U.S. 190.
