Most of us think of pansies, violas, dianthus, snapdragons and petunias to decorate our fall-through-early-spring landscape. Another nice addition to cool-season flower beds is ornamental types of kale and cabbage.
I noticed at the Belle River landing that someone had posted signs on the pavilion posts saying Do NOT CLEAN FISH UNDER THE PAVILION so I assume that has been an issue.
In the April 15, 1880, edition of the Louisiana Sugar Bowl newspaper, an unidentified writer describes a trip to “the Attakapas country, ‘The Paradise of Louisiana,’ as it is deservedly styled,” which apparently was taken some years before, when travel was pretty precarious.
