Mardi Gras parade in trouble

Sometimes it seems like the quickest way to start an argument in St. Martinville is to say the words “Mardi Gras Parade.” It definitely had that effect at the Wednesday, Jan. 13, special meeting of the City Council, and things have only gotten worse since then.

UNCLE DICK DAVIS PARK BOAT LAUNCH IN BUTTE LA ROSE WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Close call for Butte La Rose

Residents of the Atchafalaya Basin were breathing a collective sigh of relief on Monday. According to the latest information, the Morganza Spillway will not have to open for the current high-water event in the Mississippi River.
