Twenty two friends, family members and colleagues gathered at the State Farm insurance office in St. Martinville, Wednesday, December 11 to honor the late Pat Theriot who served as agent for that firm, over the past 35 years, until his passing in November of this year.

St. Martinville – This city’s Christmas Parade, postponed because of weather last weekend, is on for this Sunday, Dec. 15.

After the parade will be the Main Street Association’s “Christmas on the Boulevard” – food, music and crafts on next to St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church.

On Wednesday, Dec. 4, St. Martinville City Police Department received a call from a local Fast Food chain, concerning counterfeit money that was being distributed. Following an investigation into the incident, Kevin St. Julien, 41, St. Martinville, was arrested today by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office for Monetary Instrument Abuse.

Breaux Bridge Chamber all in for Paint the Bridge project

Honoring the 63rd year of the current drawbridge’s existence, the Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce on Friday made a $6,300 donation to the Paint the Bridge Fund which was organized to raise money to restore and repair the downtown landmark.

Breaux Bridge robbery suspect sought by police

UPDATE: Junius Lee Babineaux was arrested earlier today by Breaux Bridge Police without incident.

Breaux Bridge police are looking for Junius Lee Babineaux who's wanted for second degree robbery.

"Babineaux is considered to be violent and may be armed and dangerous," Assistant Chief Terry Latiolais said.
